Jessica Phelan

Coaching Experience: I wasn't a youth skiing prodigy, never a top-ranked alpine racer, no prestigious ski academy or top-seeded university. I learned to ski on the humble "hills" of the Finger Lakes in NY, part of a tight-knit community, immersed in that wake-up-at-o'dark-thirty-for-first-chair culture. This laid the foundation for me to grow with the sport from high school racing to college backcountry adventures, to teaching the sport to all ages, and now in my sixth year as a youth Freeski coach. Skiing is a part of my identity, and it's an honor to share with the next generation, especially with SNSC.

Skiing highlight: Coaching highlight: Guiding our 12-14 Freeski athletes at the 2023 NorAm's in Kicking Horse, BC. Seeing our athletes rise to the occasion, ski for themselves, and compete at the highest level physically and mentally was a delight to witness and an honor to coach.
